FAQ

Which passport is the strongest in the world?
In 2026 the strongest passport in the world belongs to UAE: 169 destinations without a visa in advance. Next come Singapore and South Korea, with 163 destinations each
How is the passport ranking calculated?
Each passport is ranked by the number of destinations you can travel to without getting a visa in advance: visa-free entry plus visa on arrival and electronic travel authorisations

Methodology

"Visa-free" means destinations that admit you on your passport, with or without a limited length of stay. "On arrival" means a visa or an electronic authorisation such as an eTA, issued at the border or before departure without vetting. "E-visa" is applied for online without visiting a consulate, but checks can be as strict as for a regular visa. "Visa required" is obtained in advance through a consulate. The rank is the sum of the first two groups: destinations you can fly to without getting a visa in advance.

E-visas are not included, so the number is lower than the Mobility Score on passportindex.org and the order sometimes differs. Passports with the same number of destinations share a rank, and ranks have no gaps.

Rules change often and depend on the purpose of travel, bookings and other visas you hold. Check the destination consulate website before buying tickets.
