FAQ

How much do I need to earn in 2026?
From €2,849 per month for a single applicant. This is 200% of the Spanish minimum interprofessional wage, which in 2026 is €17,094 per year. Add €1,068 per month for a spouse and for each child.
Can I work for a company outside Spain?
Yes. The restriction is not about the client's country but about the share of Spanish income: no more than 20%, and only for freelancers. The usual difficulty lies elsewhere: you need company documents legalised with an apostille and proof that the company has been operating for more than a year.
Does this visa lead to citizenship?
Yes, time on this visa counts towards residence. A Colombian citizen by birth needs only 2 years
